Burnell Hartzell He entered the challenge course industry in 1989 where he has worked as a builder, trainer, designer, inspector, and facilitator. Having built over a hundred challenge courses in over 30 states (plus Canada!), he is one of the most capable and experienced challenge course builders in the industry. Burnie has considerable experience with both indoor and outdoor installation and design, challenge courses and climbing walls, trees and poles, rock climbing instruction, manual/procedure writing, and environmental education and conservation. He is also the creator, main contributor, and editor of the Adventure Network newsletter, The Up-Date. Burnie was also largely responsible for attaining Professional Vendor Member status from ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) in 2002. Personal Pursuits: Outdoor activities of all kinds, music, guitar and environmental education. Especially the health and maintenance of trees. Personal Goals: to change and develop as an individual through personal fitness, the study of literature, and music; professionally to become a better facilitator thru experience, listening, and advanced facilitation training.
