Becky Sinapius
Becky has been involved in the outdoor
field in various ways since 1987. After graduating college with
a degree
in education she chose to apply it in the outdoors through
experiential/adventure based education. Becky has worked
for Project USE in New Jersey, and Hurricane Island Outward
Bound (HIOBS) in both Maine and Maryland. These programs
allowed her to introduce learning about group dynamics,
leadership and nature, through adventure and challenge,
to youth and adults from a wide variety of backgrounds.
One big adventure in her life was moving
by herself to Barrow, Alaska for four years. Living and
teaching school above
the Arctic Circle within a predominately native Eskimo
culture was a challenging, rewarding and sometimes very
cold experience.
Becky has gotten back into the adventure
field with The Adventure Network after her most recent
challenge of staying
home full time as the mother of a young son.
Personal
Pursuits: Activities with young son,
as well as reading, biking, cross country skiing and
hiking.
Personal Goals: Raise a happy and healthy
child. Travel to Scandanavia and Australia.
